With BIM growing across the world, NLA is keeping pace and working to master the subject. We have a team of BIM experts and architects working daily to achieve a more cohesive project and sustainable buildings. With that in mind, we have set a strategy, through standards and procedures, that allow for a better workflow between teams.

The main BIM software NLA uses is Autodesk Revit, and the Level Of Development (LOD) in our BIM projects is between LOD 200 and LOD 300 experience, so far. We are also working with other software’s such as Civil 3D and Navisworks and starting to approach Dynamo. NLA uses the online platform Autodesk BIM 360 DOCS, which allows the client to be up to date with the most recent models and information, without the need of having the specific software. This cloud service allows for controlled publishing, viewing and sharing of information, document and version control for all file types. This tool also allows all teams involved in the project to be in direct contact and working with up-to-date models, even if they are in different countries.

BIMcollab cloud and BCFs (BIM Coordination Files) are also part of our process, allowing teams and clients to report all model issues to different disciplines and to monitor its status.

BIM models allow for a more efficient project, construction management and building maintenance.

A BIM model does not only give us a 3D shape, it also provides all the specifications of the construction and individual elements. It can be used to analyse sustainability, to manage the building lifecycle, to schedule the construction process, and to extract all information into the Bill of Quantities.

NLA is preparing the future, designing and modelling beyond the life of the project.
